Against the background of the government’s preparations for the annexation of parts of the West Bank to Israel, ACRI presented the government ministers and Members of the Knesset with a position paper describing the ramifications of such for the human rights of the Palestinian residents of the Territories.
The precise plan for the proposed annexation and maps delineating it have not yet been determined. However, it can be stated with certainty that any scope or type of annexation will definitely have ramifications for the human rights of the Palestinians in the Territories.
The position paper includes an explanation of the law applying in the Territories, the obligations of the occupying power toward the occupied population, and the ramifications of the annexation for the Palestinian residents.
